Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Music Education Hub (CPMEH) is part of a network of hubs across the country working with partners to support the objectives of the National Plan for Music Education. The focus of the hub is to use available investment to:

1. Support schools to develop a strong curriculum and co-curricular provision for pupils.

2. Enable young musicians to progress in their areas of musical interest.

3. Develop partnerships with schools, providers and other organisations to increase the range of opportunities that can be provided across the County.

The Hub is not a provider itself, it commissions work annually to ensure continuity of opportunity and further collaborations developed each year to support particular initiatives.

The Hub determines how to use the investment received towards its annual programme using information and data provided by stakeholders and key partners.

Gaps in provision and future need for support is identified through surveys, dialogue, statistical information and analysis of national and local policy and trends. The current needs analysis and resulting priorities can be downloaded below.

The needs analysis is considered by the Strategic Hub Board which sets out priorities for investment for the following academic year to partners. Partners design appropriately to meet these needs and the Programme Board in each area reviews and proposes a programme and budget.
